Personal and Professional Skills

Personal skills

Problem-solving skills.

Oz Harvest provided a unique opportunity to develop and enhance my problem-solving skills. As the landscape of career and work continues to change dramatically, it is essential to be creative and provide solutions to the ever-rising world challenges. During my internship, I was amused by how the founder of OzHarvest Ronni Khan realized the purpose of repurposing food items that could have gone to landfill. It is Ronni problem-solving ideas that led to the establishment of OzHarvest. This practical innovation is now solving social, economic, and environmental challenges. As a future professional, I seek to employ creative, critical thinking skills to broaden my perspective of the issue at work and devise solutions just like Ronni Khan.

Professional Skills

Project management skills

Planning and coordination were my primary tasks during each multidisciplinary role performed at the internship. The experience helped me develop project management skills through planning and executing educational workshops and community outreach programs. I organized the execution of a community outreach program targeting secondary students during the annual secondary students conference conducted at the Brisbane Convention Centre. The activities entailed planning and coordination among stakeholders, resource management, and timely task delivery. Project management skills go hand in hand with other skills, such as leadership, communication, time management, reading, writing, and forecasting. Hence, as a future project manager, the importance of the skills gained cannot be overemphasized.
